Older homes and newer homes need different care
Georgetown has older homes near the historic center and many newer subdivisions farther out. We do not have verified details on particular streets, so we describe this in general terms.
- Older homes. Painted wood, older stucco, and aged stone can be fragile. Paint may already be failing, so we test a small spot and tell you before we start if water pressure or cleaner could lift it. We will not promise that a wash fixes failing paint.

- Stone. Georgetown sits on limestone terrain. Natural limestone suppliers advise staying at or below about 1,200 psi. Manufactured stone makers warn against acid and high pressure. White salt deposits (efflorescence) usually need a soft brush and water; if they keep returning, moisture is getting into the masonry and that needs a different fix than cleaning.
The hail question
The September 24, 2023 hailstorm hit Georgetown with hail reported up to 4 inches. Hail can dent siding, crack vinyl, chip stucco, and damage window screens as well as shingles. Before we wash, we look for impact marks. If we find broken siding or exposed substrate, we flag it, because water can get behind it.
