Window Cleaning in Round Rock, TX

Exterior and interior glass, screens, tracks and sills, plus hard-water spot treatment, with a 7-day clean guarantee.

We clean exterior and interior windows, screens, tracks and sills for homes in Round Rock and the towns around it. Exterior glass and upper floors are washed with purified water on a pole, interiors are squeegeed by hand, and sprinkler spots get a separate mineral treatment. Most customers add windows to a house wash, but we book window cleaning on its own too.

What a window cleaning visit includes

  • Exterior glass: every reachable pane, including transoms, sidelights and second-story windows
  • Interior glass: optional, squeegeed and detailed at the edges where streaks hide
  • Screens: removed, washed, rinsed and put back in the same opening they came from
  • Tracks and sills: brushed out, vacuumed where grit has packed in, and wiped so dirty water does not sit in the channel
  • Hard-water spots: treated with a mild mineral remover where the glass has not etched

We tell you in the quote exactly which of these are in, so there is no “that was extra” on the day.

Method by situation

Exterior and upper floors: pure water on a pole

Water is run through filters until it carries almost no dissolved minerals, then fed up a pole with a soft brush. The brush loosens pollen and dust, the pure water rinses it off, and because nothing is left in the water, the glass dries without spots. No ladder against your gutters, and no one on your roof for a normal two-story home.

Interiors and ground-floor detail: squeegee

Inside, we use a mop and squeegee, then detail the corners and edges with a dry cloth. That edge work is the difference between glass that looks clean from the couch and glass that looks clean at the window.

Screens

Screens are washed flat, not scrubbed in the frame, because the mesh tears and the spline pops when it is pushed. A dusty screen is also why a freshly washed window looks hazy the next morning, so we do not skip them.

Tracks and sills

Sliding tracks collect leaves, dead bugs and limestone grit. We brush and vacuum them before any water goes on the glass so the rinse does not turn that into mud on your sill.

Hard-water spots

Mineral spots sit on the surface at first and lift with a mild acid-based remover and a non-scratch pad. We test one pane and show you before doing the rest.

The honest limit: etched glass

Left long enough, minerals start to eat into the glass itself. If a pane still looks hazy or feels rough while wet after treatment, it is etched. No cleaning polishes that back. The fix is glass restoration or replacement, and we will tell you which panes are past cleaning rather than charge you to try.

Why Round Rock windows get dirty the way they do

  • Hard water and sprinkler overspray. Round Rock city water averages about 14.5 grains per gallon, which is hard. Every sprinkler head that mists a window leaves white rings as it dries, and the west and south sides of a house take the worst of it. We clean the spots, but the head that caused them needs to be turned a few degrees or they come back.
  • Pollen film. Cedar pollen runs roughly mid-December to mid-February and oak from March through May. It settles as a yellow film that sun bakes onto glass. Cleaning in the middle of cedar season gets re-coated in days, so late February through early March and again after oak finishes in May are the windows that stay clean longest.
  • Construction and limestone dust. New sections and road work put fine chalky dust on every pane downwind. New-build windows also carry sticker residue and mortar or stucco splatter, which need soft tools, not blades.
  • After storms. Wind-driven rain carries dirt that dries in streaks. After hail, like the September 2023 storm that hit Round Rock and Georgetown, we look for chipped glass and loose screens before we touch anything and point out what we see.

What moves the price

Window cleaning is quoted by the home, from photos or a quick count at the door. What changes the number:

  • How many panes, and whether they are large single panes or divided-light grids
  • One story or two, and whether anything needs a ladder
  • Exterior only, or inside and out
  • Number of screens, and whether any are the full-frame solar type
  • Track condition: a wipe is quick, packed grit takes longer
  • Hard-water treatment, by the pane

You get a firm written quote before we start, and the price does not change unless you add something. Our pricing guide explains how we quote every service.

How the visit works

  1. Quote. Send photos of each side of the house or call, and we send a written price that lists what is included.
  2. Prep. Please move anything off the sills and pull blinds up if we are doing interiors. Keep pets in another room while screens are out.
  3. Screens and tracks first. Screens come out and get washed. Tracks are cleared before the glass is wet.
  4. Glass. Exteriors with pure water from the ground, interiors with a squeegee, edges detailed, spots treated.
  5. Walk-around. We check every window from inside and out in good light. If we missed something, tell us within 7 days and we come back and fix it at no charge.

What we will not do

  • Put a pressure washer on glass or window seals. High pressure at the edge of a double-pane unit can break the seal, and a fogged window cannot be wiped clear.
  • Use razor blades on tempered or coated glass. Tempered panes can carry fabrication debris that a blade drags into scratches, and coated surfaces mark easily.
  • Use harsh acids or ammonia cleaners on low-E or tinted glass. Coatings and films get neutral cleaners and soft tools only.
  • Promise that etched glass will come back.
  • Add services on the day that were not in your written quote.

We are insured, and the certificate is available on request.

Pairs well with

Windows are the last step of an exterior reset. A house wash first takes pollen and mildew off the walls so it does not rinse back onto clean glass, and gutter cleaning on the same visit means one setup for everything above the first floor. Add driveway cleaning for the full curb-appeal package. Our guide to timing exterior cleaning in Round Rock covers the best weeks to book; the full list is on our services page.

Window cleaning FAQ

How often should windows be cleaned in Round Rock?

Twice a year suits most homes: once after oak pollen ends in late spring and once in early fall before cedar season. Homes under oaks, next to construction or with sprinklers hitting the glass need it more often. Interiors can go longer, usually every six months to a year, unless you have kids, dogs or a kitchen window that fogs with cooking. Washing in the middle of cedar season is wasted money.

Do you clean the inside of the windows too?

Yes, as an option on the quote. Interior glass is squeegeed by hand and the edges are detailed with a dry cloth. We move light items off sills but do not move furniture or take down window treatments, so please clear access before we arrive. You do not need to be home for exterior-only work, but someone does need to let us in for interiors.

Can hard-water spots be removed from my windows?

Usually, if the minerals are still sitting on the surface. We treat them with a mild remover and a non-scratch pad, and test one pane first. If the glass is etched, meaning it stays hazy or feels rough while wet, cleaning will not fix it, and that pane needs restoration or replacement. We tell you which is which before you pay for treatment, and the guarantee excludes panes we flagged as etched.

Do you clean screens and tracks, or just the glass?

Both, when they are on the quote. Screens come out, get washed flat, rinsed and reinstalled in their original openings. Tracks are brushed, vacuumed where grit has packed in, and wiped. We do this before the glass so dirty water never runs onto a clean sill. Full-frame solar screens take more handling and are listed as their own line.

What if it rains right after you clean?

Rain on clean glass mostly dries clear, because rainwater carries almost no minerals. The spots people blame on rain usually come from dust already on the glass or from sprinklers. If a storm leaves real streaks or dirt within 7 days, that falls under our clean guarantee and we come back and fix it. We may move a visit if heavy wind and rain are forecast for the same hours we would be working.

How do you clean second-story windows?

From the ground, with a pole that carries purified water to a soft brush. It reaches the upper floor of a typical two-story home, so there is no ladder leaning on gutters or walking on the roof. Windows over a steep slope, inside a screened porch, or above a tile roof section sometimes need a ladder or a different approach, and we say so in the quote.
