Patio Cleaning in Round Rock, TX
Patios, porches, pool decks and walkways cleaned with a free quote and a written price before we start.
Patio and flatwork cleaning, done without stripes or etching
Patios collect pollen, algae, tannin from fallen leaves, grease from the grill and the chalky film that hard water leaves behind. They also take the most abuse from the wrong equipment, because it is tempting to hit flat concrete with a hand wand and a narrow tip. That is how homeowners end up with lighter lines, rings and etched patches that never go away.
We clean flatwork with a rotary surface cleaner that keeps the spray at a constant height and speed, so the finish is even from edge to edge. Edges, steps and tight spots get a wide fan tip and a lower setting. If you want to compare it to driveways, see our driveway cleaning page; the method is the same, the surfaces are just more varied.

What we clean
Poured concrete
Patios, back porches, front walks, sidewalks and garage aprons. Broom finish and smooth finish both clean well with a surface cleaner.
Pool decks
Concrete and textured decks. We keep wash water moving away from the pool and tell you before we start if the deck has a coating we should not disturb.
Flagstone and pavers
Porous, joint-sensitive surfaces. We use lower pressure, a test area first, and we flag loose or washed-out joint sand before it becomes a problem.
Stamped and stained concrete
Decorative finishes and sealers are easier to damage. We test a small area and adjust, and we say so if the existing sealer is already failing.
Steps and retaining edges
Algae builds up where water sits and shade lasts. These are also the slippery spots, so we treat them as part of the job, not an extra.
Outdoor kitchens and seating areas
We cover the cleaning of the slab and surrounding hardscape. Furniture is moved and put back where it was.
Why the method matters
Concrete is one of the few exterior surfaces that handles real pressure, which is exactly why it gets abused. A bare wand held at an uneven height cuts into the cement paste and exposes aggregate in stripes. A surface cleaner spreads the same water across a spinning bar, so the contact is even. Once concrete is etched, cleaning cannot undo it.
Flagstone, pavers and stone are a different story. They are porous and the joints between them are the weak point. We drop the pressure, widen the fan and keep the tip away from the joint sand. Stone suppliers generally advise staying well under what a typical consumer machine puts out, and we work to that standard.
For anything attached to the house, such as a siding wall that meets the patio, we switch to our house washing soft wash method so we are not blasting siding with concrete settings.
What gets in the way, and what we can honestly promise
- Algae and mildew: usually lifts completely. It returns fastest in shade and where water pools.
- Leaf tannin and oak stains: oak and pecan leaves leave dark prints on porous concrete. Fresh ones lift well. Set-in ones may lighten without disappearing, and we tell you that before we start. Oak pollen season runs March to May, so expect prints in spring.
- Grease and oil: we treat and rinse. Deep oil may lighten and not vanish.
- Rust: irrigation overspray can leave rust-colored stains on patios and walls. These can lighten but may not fully come out.
- Hard-water film: Round Rock city water averages about 14.5 grains per gallon, so mineral spotting on glass, walls and sprinkler-hit concrete is common. We can lighten it; heavy buildup may need more than one pass.
- Etching and damage from earlier washing: cannot be reversed by cleaning.
If a stain is unlikely to come out fully, we say so before the first pass. No one gets surprised at the end of the job.
How a patio job runs
- Quote. Send photos or have us stop by. We confirm the square footage and price in writing.
- Prep. We move furniture, protect plants and outlets, and check drains and slopes so water goes where it should.
- Pre-treat. Algae and stains get a treatment before any rinse so they come up with less pressure.
- Clean. Surface cleaner on open areas, lower settings on edges, stone and joints.
- Rinse and check. We walk the slab with you, then put everything back.
We work to keep wash water out of storm drains. Round Rock allows residential pressure washing on your assigned watering day and prohibits water waste at all times, so we use only what the job needs.
Cost
Patio and concrete flatwork is quoted by the job. Price moves with square footage, how much algae or staining there is, the surface (pavers take more care than plain broom finish), and access. Combining patio with a driveway or house wash is usually the best use of the visit. Final price confirmed in writing before we start. How we price is explained on our pricing page.
How long it lasts and how often to clean
A shaded, damp patio can show algae again within a season. A sunny, dry slab can stay clean much longer. Most Round Rock homeowners clean patios once a year, often in late spring after oak and pecan pollen settles, or in early fall before cedar season. After cleaning, a sealer is optional and is a separate job. Ask us what the surface can tolerate, and wait until it is completely dry before sealing.
Our guarantee
If we miss something, tell us within 7 days and we come back and fix it at no charge. We are insured, with a certificate available on request.
Patio cleaning questions
Can pressure washing damage my patio?
Yes, if the wrong tool is used. A hand wand with a narrow tip can etch concrete and leave stripes. A surface cleaner holds the spray at an even height, and we use lower pressure on stone, pavers and stamped finishes.
How much does patio cleaning cost in Round Rock?
It depends on size, staining and surface type. Quotes are free, and We confirm the final price in writing before we start.
Can you clean pavers and flagstone?
Yes. We use lower pressure, test a small area first, and keep the tip away from the joints. If joint sand has washed out, we tell you so you can re-sand it. Re-sanding is not part of the base price.
Will the stains from oak leaves come out?
Fresh tannin stains usually lift well. Stains that have been in the concrete for a season or more may lighten but not disappear. We tell you what to expect before we start.
Do I need to move my patio furniture?
No. We move and replace furniture as part of the job. Please tell us about delicate items, and clear anything fragile or wind-prone before we arrive.
How soon can I use the patio after cleaning?
You can walk on it as soon as the surface is no longer slick. Allow it to dry fully before putting furniture back on top of fresh, damp stone or pavers, and before sealing.
