Fence Cleaning in Round Rock, TX

Wood fence washing with low pressure and the grain, with a free quote and a written price before we start.

Wood fences need a lighter hand than concrete

Search for fence pressure washing and you will find plenty of homeowners who ended up with a fuzzy, gouged fence after trying it themselves. Cedar and pine are soft. High pressure raises the grain, leaves wand marks and lap lines, and can drive moisture and mold spores deeper into the board. The fix is sanding, which costs far more than the wash did.

We clean fences with low pressure, a wide fan, and a cleaning solution that does the work, so the water only has to rinse. We run the spray with the grain and keep a consistent distance. The result is the same silver-gray or tan wood you started with, without the black mildew, green algae and dirt film.

What we clean

Cedar and pine privacy fences

The most common fence in Round Rock backyards. Low pressure, with the grain, one side or both.

Stained and sealed fences

We clean without stripping what is left of the finish. If the old stain is failing, we say so before we start.

Vinyl and metal fencing

Soft wash and rinse. Vinyl picks up algae and dirt streaks quickly in shaded runs.

Gates, posts and caps

Included in the same pass, since they weather differently than the boards.

Pre-stain cleaning

If you plan to stain or seal, a clean, dry fence is what the finish needs to bond to.

HOA-flagged fences

If your notice mentions mildew or discoloration, cleaning is often the fix. Check your notice for the deadline.

Wash first, then stain: the order matters

Stain and sealer go on clean wood. Applied over dirt, algae or old mildew, the finish traps the problem and peels early. If you are planning to stain, wash first and let the wood dry completely before the stain goes on. How long that takes depends on weather and shade; a fence on the north side of the yard in a damp week takes longer. Your stain’s label gives its own dry-time requirement, and we will tell you when the fence looks ready.

If you are not staining, a wash alone is a fine way to reset the look of the fence. Many Round Rock homeowners do it once a year or every other year. For concrete next to the fence, add a patio or walkway cleaning to the same visit.

What we will not do

  • Use high pressure on wood. It looks fast and damages the fence.
  • Promise a new-wood look on weathered boards. Wood that has gone silver-gray from sun will clean up, but will not turn back to fresh tan. Only a stain does that.
  • Repair or replace boards. We clean. If a board is rotten or loose, we point it out so you can have it fixed.
  • Stain your fence. We clean it and prepare it. Staining is a separate trade.

If your fence is old, thin or brittle, we will tell you before we start and adjust the method. We would rather skip a bad idea than create a repair bill.

How a fence job runs

  1. Measure. We confirm linear footage and height from photos or a short visit, and give you a written price.
  2. Protect. We wet and cover nearby plants, and note any areas that need special care.
  3. Apply. Cleaning solution goes on the boards, left to work, not scrubbed with pressure.
  4. Rinse. Low-pressure rinse, with the grain, board by board.
  5. Walkthrough. We check both sides you asked for and make sure you are happy before we leave.

We work to keep wash water out of storm drains, and we respect Round Rock’s water rules: residential washing is allowed on your assigned watering day and water waste is always prohibited.

Cost

Fence cleaning is priced by the length of fence, depending on fence height, how heavy the growth is, whether one or both sides are included, and access along the fence line. Final price confirmed in writing before we start. See all services on the pricing page.

How long a clean fence stays clean

Shaded fences and runs near sprinklers show algae again sooner. Sunny, dry runs can stay clean much longer. Oak and pecan leaves and pollen from March to May settle on horizontal rails and caps, and cedar pollen season from roughly mid-December to mid-February adds a yellow film. A spring or early-fall wash is the usual rhythm. Your fence’s finish, if it has one, is the biggest factor in how long it stays clean.

Fence cleaning questions

Will pressure washing ruin my cedar fence?

High pressure can. It raises the grain, leaves gouges and wand marks, and can drive moisture into the wood. We use low pressure and a cleaning solution, and spray with the grain so the wood stays smooth.

How much does fence cleaning cost in Round Rock?

It depends on the length and height of the fence, how heavy the growth is and whether both sides are cleaned. Quotes are free. The price is confirmed in writing before we start.

Should I wash my fence before staining it?

Yes. Stain bonds to clean, dry wood. Applied over mildew or dirt, it traps the problem and peels sooner. Let the fence dry completely after washing, and follow the stain label for dry time.

Can you clean both sides of the fence?

Yes. Tell us which sides you want. Neighbor-facing sides need access from the other yard, so we may need you to coordinate with them or limit the job to your side.

Will my gray fence turn brown again?

Cleaning removes mildew, algae and dirt, but sun-grayed wood will not go back to fresh-cut color. That change comes from stain or sealer. We tell you what to expect before we start.

Is fence cleaning worth doing before an HOA deadline?

Often, yes, when the notice cites mildew, algae or discoloration. Check your notice for the cure period, then book early so the fence has time to dry and any follow-up is possible before the deadline.
